Recently, after ‘dissolving’ a headache, I lay down for a rest (the natural way to integrate a new state of consciousness).
The headache was a distraction from feeling the true emotion that was present in my body. With the headache gone I was feeling that emotion…….FEAR!
It’s fear that gets my adrenaline pumping, fear that brings me out in a sweat, fear that makes my heart beat faster and fear that makes my breathing short and shallow………….whatch ya gonna do?…….Flow Writing!
I’ve been using the practice of Flow Writing for over 20yrs……so after only one A4 sheet of paper I’d cleared the mist and cleared my mind!
It may take you longer if you are new to flow writing but try it yourself and see how it works.
This is what you do.
Find some paper to write on…..scrap A4 size works best for me…..it’s good to always have some with you as flow writing can be done just about anywhere.
Put your pen on the paper, and start writing!
Keep writing, don’t stop writing, don’t lift your pen of the paper, let everything flow out of you mind. It’s fine (in fact better) if all the words are joined up, so there is a continuous flow from your mind down through your arm into the pen!
Don’t be concerned with what you write and don’t censor what you write. It’s your own private writing and should be destroyed as soon as you finish.
You are not writing ’stuff’ to analyse or assess later, you are writing to CLEAR YOUR MIND. Get it out from your mind on to the paper and then to be destroyed (ripped up, burnt or whatever)
Flow Writing can be used anytime to help gain clarity with indecision, confusion or during depression.
To your very best health
Michael
